WATSON, Moira Elizabeth Ann Scott (nee Bruce)
Moira Elizabeth Ann Scott (Bruce) Watson passed away on February 26, 2022, in her sleep. Moira was born on April 12, 1930 in Edinburgh to Eillium Bruce and Annie Cassidy, she also had a brother, William Bruce. Moira had seven children and is survived by 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. In her early life she excelled at all sports and had a passion for field hockey and tennis. She went on to become a teacher, married and lived in South Queensferry until immigrating to Hamilton in 1967. Moira had a very successful teaching career at St. Michael and Blessed Sacrament schools, where she also coached track and field and public speaking. She inspired countless children over the years with her unique contribution in the creation of musical plays for the students — Treasure Island, Tom Sawyer, The Mounties and The Fourth Wise King. In her retirement she continued to be active from snow blowing out the street, golfing, volunteering for many years, teaching children to read, and spending time with her many grand and great grandchildren. Moira will be missed and remembered by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the staff at Wentworth Heights and The Wellington for the care and assistance given to Moira. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, from 6pm - 9pm at Miller Funeral Chapel, 28 Caithness St. E., Caledonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 107 Orkney St. E., Caledonia, on March 3, 2022 at 11am. A reception will follow mass at St. Patrick’s Church. Interment at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 254 Garner Rd. W., Ancaster, at 2pm.
