ERHARD, Mildred "Joan” (née Lindop)
MARCH 10, 1937 – April 9, 2022
Joan Erhard, 85, passed away on April 9, 2022 at her home in Ontario, surrounded by family. Joan was born March 10, 1937 to Millie and Thomas Lindop in Halifax, NS. She completed High School in Edmonton, Alberta, and studied to become a Registered Nurse at the Royal Alexandra School of Nursing. She married Ferdinand Fritz August Erhard on July 3, 1959 in Edmonton, AB and raised three daughters. She worked in healthcare for 50 years, retiring from her role as the Head Nurse of Urology at the Misericordia Hospital. She made the family cabin at Pigeon Lake home in 1993, a place that Ferdi still calls Shangri-la. Joan is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ferdi; daughters, Irene (Peter) Fedikow, Angela Erhard, Maria (Sean) Longridge; 3 Grandchildren, Melissa (Moshe) Fisher-Rozenberg, Sarah (Danny) Payment, Matthew (Courtney) Longridge; and 5 beautiful Great Grandchildren, Parker, Westley, Navy Joan, Liam & Kip. Joan was an astounding woman who is remembered for her kindness, thoughtful gift-giving, passion for helping people, and inspiring ability to see the good in all. The family would like to express our sincere thanks to the three beautiful caregivers that helped us take care of her after her stroke – Dorothy Joy Casipe, Jennifer Ros, Arianne Cariaga – we will be forever grateful for the past 11 years, and the special memories made possible by your work. The kindness, dedication and compassion you all gave to our Mother is something we'll never forget.

We are planning a Celebration of Joan's life in Alberta – MAY 24, 2022, 1:00 PM – Black Bull Golf Resort "Bullpen" – 9 AB-13, Ma-Me-O Beach, AB.
