It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of Joan Beale, in her 88th year. We want to thank the team at Grandview Lodge and specifically Creekview for their wonderful loving care. Joan is predeceased by her first husband Roy Beale (1971) and her second husband Harry Beale (2013). Loving mother to Susan (Terry) King, Gerri (Jim) Gregory, Chris Halliday (Doug Mclellan), Rick (Lori) Beale and loving stepmom to Gerald Beale, Carolyn (Jan) Verbruggen and John Beale. Gramma to Chris (Kerri) King, Jacqui Jackson, Andrea (James) Gilbrook, Barry Gregory, Katie Gregory, Matt (Jennifer) Halliday, Nick (Jenna) Halliday, Matthew (Brianne) Kaye, Eric (Kristen) Kaye, Mike (Stephanie) Beale, Jennie-Lynn (Trevor) Hallett, Dan (Edie) Vassallo, Courtney (D’arcy) McMillan, Kelly Vassallo (Henry Morgan), Carrie Beale (Regis Lemke), Amanda (Ray) Hachey Beale and 29 great grandchildren. Joan was born in Cochrane, Ontario on May 9, 1934. She was the 3rd child of Robert and Gladys (Palmer) Somerville. Sister of Betty Stephenson and Evelyn Tokarchuk (Dan Quinn). Predeceased by her 2 brothers – Charles and Ken. Joan loved vacations to Clearwater, Florida, country and western songs as well as old standards. She sang and hummed ALL THE TIME. She will be remembered for teaching the importance of family, Beale family and friends gatherings, her countless quilts, her signature cupcakes, home made perogies and potato salad. Friends may call at the MILLER FUNERAL CHAPEL, Caledonia, on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 2 - 4p.m. and 7 - 9p.m. The service will take place in the chapel on Saturday, November 6, at 11a.m. followed by cremation. If desired, memorial donations in memory of Joan can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Haldimand - Norfolk (645 Norfolk St N, Simcoe, ON N3Y 3R2) or to the charity of your choice.
