Obituary for John Michael Batchelor
John Michael Batchelor ("SOKKO")
April 29. 1961 - July 11, 2021 (Age 60)

John died on July 11, 2021 in Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital after a seven month battle with Mesothelioma (Cancer). He died surrounded by his immediate family (Wife, Sandy, Children Rhiannon and Torrin and future daughter-in-law Meagan) with his favourite traditional (Bagpipes!) Artist (Clann An Drumma) playing at full volume.
The family is exhausted after the last few intense weeks.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Miller Funeral Chapel.
Mesothelioma is an insidious, terminal form of Cancer.
John was pleased to be part of a Clinical Trial via the University Hospital Network in Toronto whereby data and samples from his treatment were collected and will be studied to hopefully inform the trial and help others in future treatments. With this in mind, the family has created a “John Batchelor Memorial Fund” with the Canadian Mesothelioma Foundation. The CMF supports mesothelioma patients and their families, as well as the development of a network of expertise in mesothelioma diagnosis, treatment and care across Canada. If you are so inclined, we, the Family, would really appreciate donations to this fund so that one day, future affected patients and their families will have hope and treatment options.
