Obituary for James "Richard" Harrison
HARRISON, James Richard
September 13, 1947 – June 25, 2022
After lifelong challenges with diabetes, Richard passed away peacefully in his 75 th year. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Arlana Harrison (Rich Adams) and proud Papa to Broxton and Baylen Adams. Richard was a brother to Barb Wilson (Doug) whom he received a kidney transplant from in 2006. Predeceased by his parents Jim and Evelyn Harrison and his sister Margaret Houison. Nephew to Elenore Wills and special uncle to Tara Walker (Kyle), Dan Houison (Shona), Heather Vowles (Jamie) and Kelli Fay. Richard will also be missed by his cousins, many great-nieces, great-nephews and previous spouse, Rebecca Harrison. Richard was a long time dairy farmer in Caledonia and former owner of Harrison’s Landing. Richard was a proud member of the Caledonia Fair Board, Caledonia Agricultural Society and played Old timers Hockey in Caledonia for many years. Our family would like to thank the many services that supported Richard and treated him with love and compassion over the years, his team of in-home caregivers and supporters, Caledonia Senior Support Services, Haldimand Paramedics and the many doctors and nurses on his health care teams. Richard will be sadly missed by his many friends, he loved you all too. Richard enjoyed sharing his stories, knowledge and a good laugh. He had the best smile. There will be a visitation held in the MILLER FUNERAL CHAPEL, Caledonia, on Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 6p.m.- 8p.m followed by a private family service. Interment in Caledonia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you please consider a donation to the Community Support Centre, Haldimand-Norfolk or the Caledonia Agricultural Society.
