Obituary for James William Harris

HARRIS, James William
It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our Dad, James William Harris on November 4, 2021. Born on December 16, 1935, he was in his 86th year. He was a loving Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, brother and friend. He is loved and will be greatly missed by all of us, his children, Greg Harris (Tammy), Todd Harris (Tina), Julie Harris, Joy Bradley (Jason). His Grand and Great-grand children, Erica, Danielle (Indy, Benson), Sydney (Ashton) and his sister, Carol Hoover as well as many other family and friends. Predeceased by Pat Taylor and Oliver Harris. Dad was born and raised in Mount Hope, but he lived and loved in Caledonia. His passion for sports lead to playing and coaching fastball and softball, golfing, refereeing and coaching hockey. He was a proud member of The Legion and The Caledonia Kinsmen Club, where he was honoured for his decades of devotion to Little League, creation and maintenance of Kinsmen Park and Diamond as well as the Ed Dietz and Edinburgh Square Ball Park. Some might remember his "Dad and Lad" shop downtown Caledonia from the 70's. We all carry fond memories of him and he will live on through us. Though he is gone in body we know his spirit is playing a round of golf somewhere sunny and warm. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date as were his wishes.
