Passed away suddenly at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 in his 94th year. George was beloved soul mate to Anne, loving father of Linda (Skip), David (Rema), Douglas (Lee) and Sandra (Ted), stepfather to Gregory (Tammy), Todd (Tina), Julie and Joy (Jason). Cherished Grandfather of Bradley, Nicole, Nathan, Ashlee, predeased by Ian, Lisa, Andrea, Matthew, Michael and Alana; and step grandfather to Erica, Danielle, Sydney and Emmit and 24 great grandchildren. George is predeceased by 3 sisters and 5 brothers. George was happiest when he was working and whistling away in his workshop, fixing and building. He enjoyed a long career as a burner mechanic and built 2 houses of his own and helped many others. He was a man who could fix anything and was not afraid to tackle any projects. He was a member of the Caledonia Fire Department for 21 years, a member of many community organizations and was instrumental in building the addition to the Caledonia Presbyterian Church and the Caledonia Fire Hall. George moved to Parry Sound in 1979 and started a successful business again from scratch. The service will take place in the MILLER FUNERAL CHAPEL, Caledonia, on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 1 p.m. with visitation beginning two hours prior at 11a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the War Amps would be appreciated.
