Smith, Donald (Don) Edward  
With great sadness, we announce that Don passed away, in his 81st year, surrounded
by his family at West Haldimand General Hospital from complications of Idiopathic
Pulmonary Fibrosis on September 28th, 2022.

Beloved husband of Dorothy and brother of Veronica (Serge, deceased) Houde. Loving father to
Maureen and Derrick (Kelly Anne) and stepfather to Nancy (Dale) Peddle and Karen
(Grant) Trundou.

Proud Grandpa to Dana, Nathan, Kyle, Calin, Paige, James and Emma.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret Frances (Fran), daughter Deborah and
his parents, Albert and Bridget (nee Gavigan).

Don was a long-time employee of the Canadian Pacific Railway in Montreal and was
a business owner during his time in Milton, Ontario. A sports fan all of his life, he
spent his final months enjoying the Toronto Blue Jays’ push to the postseason.

Thank you to the physicians, nurses, other Healthcare providers and neighbours who
supported Don through his illness.

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life and a private family interment
will follow at a later date.
