Obituary for Dennis Richard Dureault

Dennis R. Dureault
July 14, 1945 – February 22, 2023
Stubborn and strong-willed doesn’t begin to describe Dennis Dureault. Toss in a bit of a penny-pincher, (OK he was cheap – lol), a bit grumpy at times and always on the hunt for the next deal whether it be cars, tools, property, or antiques. Always buying and never selling led to every nook and cranny of his office filled with something. These characteristics, among many others, were imbedded in his personality and the traits we admired most about him. Dennis enjoyed many days at his garage in Cayuga. In the early days, there were many a drink to be had, card games played and let us not forget the many tales told…of which, Dennis would chuckle with that smirk on his face, and respond, “I tell the lies in this place”. When he wasn’t under the hood of car, he was here and there with friends or collecting antiques for display or refurbishment. With all his quirks, family always remained important to him. He will be fondly remembered by his son Darrin Dureault (Sharon), daughter, Gena Dureault (Tim), mother of his children, Melissa, his grandchildren, Taylor, Cole and Shae, his great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many great friends. Staying true to his form, Dennis didn’t want a ceremony at his passing, and didn’t want anyone to grieve, but rather, to enjoy what each day has to offer with a dessert or two in-hand, “couple three or more”, in his words, if you were buying of course. Joined with his father and mother, Conrad and Ruth, brothers, Donald, Stanley and Jimmy, Dennis will undoubtedly be keeping a close eye on his family, garage as well as all of his 'trinkets’.
Always in our Hearts, Dennis/Poohbah/Old Man/Dad
