Peacefully on Sunday February 11th, 2024 with family at her side, the Lord reached out his hand to take Claire home to be reunited with Wally. Together again at last. Wonderful memories remain in the hearts of her children, Debra (Allen) Smith, Russell (†Lisa) Smith, Nadine (Dave) Harbottle. Claire was blessed with six Grandchildren, Kellee(Chris), Jacquee(Jeff), Brennen(Emma), Meghan (Mike), Jessica, Kelsey(Kyle) and 14 Great grandchildren, and 1 Great great grandchild. Claire was born in Spring Valley, Saskatchewan on January 19th, 1928 to Zacharias and Theresa Beitel (nee Klepsch). Claire was the 9th of 16 children; †Rose(†Pete), †Jack(†Madeline), †Joe(†Edith), †Sebastian(†Barb), †Mike (Regina), †Betty(†Otto), †Jean (†John), Olga(†Frank), †Frieda(†Roy), †Otto(†Anne), Anne(†John), †Ewalt(Molly), Adeline(Pete), †Marty(Sharon), Ed(Wendy). Along with Wally’s 12 siblings, †Rose, †Jim, †Florence, †Marvin, †Alta, †Ernie, †Gordon, †Leonard, †Ed, †Del (Joan), †Harold(Linda) and Phyllis. Plus many, many nieces and nephews. Claire loved to garden, cook, play cards, and care for her family and was a member of the Hagersville Baptist Church for many years. Special thanks for all the support from Haldimand County community paramedic services, CBI nurse Melanie, and all the daily care from PSW, Monique Long. Visitation will be held at the Miller Funeral Chapel in Caledonia on Thursday February 15th, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Service on Friday February 16th at 10:30 am at Miller Funeral Chapel with reception to follow.
