Obituary for Alison Preece

Alison Preece (nee Adam) passed away peacefully on February 21, 2024 at Clarion Nursing
Home in Stoney Creek. Alison was born in Aberdeen, Scotland on July 10, 1940. After graduating from teaching
college, Alison began her teaching career in Aberdeen before moving to Germany, where she taught dependents of the British Military. Two years later, Alison emigrated to Canada, where she continued her teaching career for four decades. Alison met the love of her life, Elmer, and together, they enjoyed their time travelling throughout the world on some truly interesting adventures. Alison and Elmer loved their daily golfing at King’s Forest and they curled for many years at the Glendale Golf & Country Club. Alison and Elmer enjoyed the theatre and were patrons of Theatre Aquarius and the Lighthouse Theatre. They both were active volunteers in the community and were always willing to lend a hand. The two of them loved hosting great dinner parties for their friends. Alison was an avid reader, belonging to two different book clubs. Alison enjoyed a vibrant life and always had a smile on her face. Alison is predeceased by her husband Elmer, her parents George and Mary Adam and her sister May and brother-in-law George Rae. She is survived by her nieces, Louise and Alison and her nephew, Stuart and grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. “May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; May the rains fall softly upon your fields and until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His hand”. Arrangements entrusted to MILLER FUNERAL CHAPEL, Caledonia (905-765-2712). Friends are invited to send condolences and sign the Book of Memories at www.millerfuneralchapel.ca.
