Peacefully, into the arms of Jesus, Atie Huitema reunited with her loving husband, Theo and son, Larry on October 2, 2021. Residing in Hamilton, Ontario, previously for 42 years in Caledonia after immigrating from The Netherlands in 1953. Loving and devoted wife to the late Theo Huitema of 56 years. Dear mother to Larry (deceased 1965), Mary Ann (Bob), Verona (Scott deceased 2019), Hank (Tammy), Janet, Paul (Jennifer), Tim (Susan), Loving Oma to Rob (Courtney), Melanie (Chris), Chris (Kristine), Ben (Rachel), Erik (Britany), Erin, Victoria (John), Alex (Natasza), Josh (Kayla), Megan, Tyler, Nicholas (Cassady), Andrew (Lauren), Daniel (Jessica), Georgia (Steve), Matthew, Zachary, Samantha, Olivia and great- grandchildren, Amber, Alex, Theo, Jackson, Hunter, Oliver, Bree, Evie, Nathaniel, Elsie, Felix, Paisley (deceased 2020), Claire, Jaelyn. Also survived by her special friend, Bill Haartman, her sister- in-law, Catherine Huitema from Cayuga and many family members and friends in Canada and The Netherlands. Atie’s passions included her faith, her family, her. beloved Blue Jays. She was a competitive card player, an avid reader, crocheter and knitter. She will be sadly missed. A Mass of Christian burial Will be celebrated in Annunciation of our Lord, Catholic Church, (280 Limeridge Rd. W. Hamilton, ON), on Saturday, October 9, 2021at 11:30 am. Mandatory Covid Restrictions must be obeyed . Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Caledonia. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Good Shepherd Center would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to MILLER FUNERAL CHAPEL, Caledonia.
